Who We Are

Youth is a place for people to ask questions, and maybe even find answers, to be loved as one of God’s irreplaceable works, to be accepted as a brother or sister in Christ, to encounter the living God, and to learn what it means to be a Christian.We’ve all experienced enough of life to have come face to face with the realization that something is wrong. That out there, and in me, something is broken, something deep at the center of everything and everyone is broken, and it’s just not working how it should.Something inside us tells us that there is a different way, a different existence, even if we aren’t sure what that might be.The thing of it all is that God built this world to work on principles like love, charity, and selflessness, all under the direction of his patient, gracious hand. But he gave the world to us, and we took it back.He could have let us be, he could have left us to destruction at our own hands, but instead, He came to earth as a man, Jesus Christ, to show us the way and pay the price we incurred so we could go back. Go back to the people he made us to be, go back to the relationship we are meant to have with Him.It's about a personal relationship with God, dying to ourselves, our wants, our needs, our desires, and beginning a new life with Jesus at the center of it all. We want to be beacons of light, loving, forgiving, patient, and living lives that mean that others are better off because they know us, because we know Christ.Christian. It means “like Christ”. That’s a high bar, but encouraging each other, supporting each other, and learning to lay it all at the feet of the One True God together, we strive to be just that: one who represents Christ.Something is broken, but we have found the One who can put it back together, and there’s nothing more we’d like to do then introduce you to the one who changed our lives forever.Love the LORD your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your strength.-Deuteronomy 6:5

First things first.

Thank you so much for being an awesome parent! Every one of the youth that are involved with Northside Youth are amazing tributes to all the incredible hard work and love that has been poured into thier lives. So from the bottom of my heart, thanks you! Thanks for putting up with or craziness, the late nights and for pitching in and helping out. We couldn't do Youth without you!

In my efforts to some how convey my appreciation I have discovered something. It has come to my attention that there is something that parent's want and aren't always getting. It's the thing that doesn't always seem to make it home.

Information.

So this is what this page is for. There is going to be so much information on here that you will probably want to take it in small doses.

I mean it, pace yourself. Otherwise you may find that you are so overwhelmed by the sheer volme of relevant information that you may begin to forget somethings. You know unimportant tid bits like your childrens names, where you left your house, and how to tie your shoes.

Please Help! We Need Your Help!Were looking for a group of parents to help out at Youth on a month and a halfish basis with helping to drive our teens to some of our events.We really want to keep Youth interesting but we also want to keep it affordable. Creationfest CreationfestCreation Festival is an event we have gone to every year now for the past many many years (can't really remember how long..). It's a Christian music festival that runs down in Washington and every year it's been awesome!The main reasons we make such an effort to go down there is one; it's an mazing atmosphere and a great opportunity for the youth to be able to step back and get away from everything, spending time worshiping and hanging out with other Christians, and two; it's the only chancewe'll have to see a lot of these bands becuase they don't come up here to Canada.The cost is TBD but it's usually around $235.The site so you can see the band and all the other details I may have missied is at http://www.creationfest.com/nw/<<<>>>We are looking for some amazing parents who wouldn't mind serving our youth by running the meals and helping with the practicalities of camping with a ton of teens! Rock the River Rock the RiverRock the River is an amazing event that the Billy Grahame association is putting on in the Lower Mainland. It's an all day Christian music festival on August 7th and the main focus of it is reaching the lost youth of our area.Were starting an initiative at youth called Ambassadors where one of our main pushes is for every teen to invite on of their friends that isnt a Christian yet. The impact this event could have is massive!!Cost is only $10 too! Rest of the detail can be found at their site.
